Think of YOU

Greetings, you lovely humans!

I have been one busy bee, and not a day goes by where I don't think about writing on this blog. It's just that a lot has been going on with work, and passion projects, and self improvement, that this has taken the back burner. Truth be told, this is something I do feel passionate about, and feel that there's a lot I want to say.

With that being said, you can look forward to more consistent posts, and also lots of vulnerability from me. One new thing I've been doing is journaling everyday. It's been bite-sized and doable, and very therapeutic. I must say, I look forward to it everyday.

So I feel super accomplished this morning. I woke up at 6 am after only sleeping about 5 hours, and worked for an hour, and wrote for an hour. It was truly splendid. My aim from now on is to do that, and hopefully get in the rhythm of going to bed earlier. (My life long feat!!)

There is a lot on my mind today, lots I'm excited about, so in the next several days, you can look forward to more posts.

But I first want to discuss the reason I feel extra excited about my novel. My good friend, has become my accountability buddy (without me asking!) by making sure I get my writing done everyday. We have a fun little bet going on where I have to do something I dread if I don't follow through. I really can't pinpoint why I've had such a hard time getting back into writing on my everyday. Even after a long day of creative work, I can start a new fiction story. But when it comes to that novel, I procrastinate. When in reality, I don't have the time to be putting it off. I searched through my excuses of having a creative job all day, and it is truly exhausting... however, if I think of my WHY, and I think of the good friend I have pressing me with the question, "DID YOU WRITE?" I feel I must quit the procrastination and get on it. Time is of the essence! One of my bigger issues, or rather illuminating idea, came from the fact that I realized, I NEVER EVER procrastinate with work. I am always ahead of the game, I am always working long hours, and I truly enjoy what I do. However, why am I not giving myself the same respect and dedication? And that's where that clarity and motivation came from.

Well, if today's ramblings left you with nothing I hope you take two things from this.

  1. Everything you need is inside, you can hold yourself accountable by changing your frame of mind. (Friends can help too!)

  2. In what area of your life can you give more to yourself? And why are you not doing it already?

Until tomorrow's post!
